American Evangelist have recently been in the news for their direct financing and millions of dollars in support of Ugandan Government activities including backing and destructive support of the Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill (often called the “Kill the Gays bill,”) which mandates a death penalty and life imprisonment clause as a legislative proposal that would broaden the criminalization of same-sex relations in Uganda domestically, and further includes provisions for Ugandans who engage in same-sex relations outside of Uganda, asserting that they may be extradited for punishment back to Uganda, and includes penalties for individuals, companies, media organizations, or non-governmental organizations that just know of gay people or support LGBT rights.

In January, this year-a Documentary called The Gospel Truth, Filmed by Rodger Ross, with Reverend Kapya Kaoma, a minister who spend years studying the relationship between American Conservatives and Africa discusses the widely maintained viewpoint of American Christian missionary groups asserted that homosexuality is a direct threat to the cohesion of African families and warned Uganda is in danger of being “dragged back to the dark and evil days of Idi Amin. In the documentary, The American House of Prayer was filmed. Disturbingly, One Minister Jo Anna Watson, of Touching Hearts International Ministries, lead service by referring to the Ugandan locals stating, “They miss a Fatherly heart of Love because they haven’t been fathered properly,” help them close the door to sexual immorality and perversion.?

Ugandan LGBT Children could also face death under the bill.

Some of the most concerning provisions of the original bill required teachers and parents to report LGBT children or face penalties, banned landlords from providing lodging to any LGBT individuals and added the death penalty for aggravated Homosexuality (Which includes, among other things, being a serial Offender). The UK newspaper The Guardian has said that the bill confirms the country’s status as “unjust and infamous”, calling the law a “wretched piece of legislation,” London-based newspaper The Times also criticized the proposed law and the BBC for sponsoring a debate titled “Should homosexuals face execution?”

Mike Huckabee at the Southern Baptist Convention

The same sentiments are echoed thought our Conservative Christian World for example; When Mike Huckabee delivered a politically charged speech at the annual Southern Baptist Convention meeting, telling attendees that holy matrimony will be twisted into a perversion and formed into an unholy pretzel  As a result of same-sex marriage. Huckabee went on to criticize the armed forces and the Boy Scouts for becoming test labs for social experiments and Jason Collins, whom he mockingly called a hero for announcing his sexual proclivities. Baptist Press, the media arm of the SBC, further reports that Huckabee urged pastors to speak out against the ungodly and unholy Culture and put the Republican Party on notice in case they ease off on issues like the sanctity of life and the holiness of marriage. The future of abortion rights, Huckabee said, would determine whether or not our civilization will survive as a country and if our nation will stand or fall. “Jesus is talking about good food, biblical food,” Huckabee noted, lamenting “we are living in a time of biblical ignorance.” “People who attend church, especially young people, have an extraordinary lack of biblical depth,” he said. “According to recent surveys, the kids who grow up in our evangelical churches do not really know God.

The documentary also, films an Evangelistic session that shows a Ugandan crowd chanting “those who are ready to Kill homosexuals, hands up!”

While many of the many of the missionaries are doing Good work, the preconceived notion that the Ugandan and African locals are “uncivilized,” and “unholy,” Is assisting in a cultural war, in addition to the negative propaganda against the African populations that may lead to further the destruction within the communities that the missionaries visit. For the locals-this dangerous ideology, and a very harmful, ideology that has to be corrected.

In closing-You can’t preach hate and not accept responsibility for the way that hate is manifested.Gay rights activists protest outside Uganda House in Trafalgar Square in London
