In today’s tough modern age-Biblical Leaders must not only concern themselves with how to lead, but they must also address and understand why they are leading or what purpose after acknowledging that their calling and vocation comes from God the Father.
Biblical Leaders must find their why before they know their what. Most gain a sense of the term vision to describe a leader’s purpose and the future state for which they will influence others.
If we were to ask any self described church leader, then he or she would most likely tell you that the idea of vision is at the heart of leading others, to comprehend biblical leadership-then we must realize that in a biblical paradigm- vision flows first from God’s call to the leader.
To better illustrate our purpose we have decided to use the life and Ministry of Moses; Here is a passage about the events that set Moses on his path to righteousness.
Walking along the dusty, desert road, a man named Moses was caught off-guard. He saw a bush that was inflamed but not burning. Ablaze and lit up, it flickered with flecks of fire, but the bush, leaves, and stems were not consumed. Slowly, cautiously, Moses approached the burning bush—and everything changed.
It seems to be extraordinary that Moses (illustration, above) had a clear conversation with God about what to do with his life. This amazing burning-bush moment was like God’s telephone directly to Moses, revealing a clear mission of what he was supposed to do. How could we not be jealous of that?
With this fact in mind we have decided to put together three major bullet points that “Good,” Biblical Leadership should be able to understand.
1. Understanding of the Calling
We know that the Body of Christ is structured to equip us for our function. We understand from the Apostle Paul’s teaching that Christ, “gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head — Christ — from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
The real question here for most Christians is “How do we understand our place in the Body of Christ?” In other words, “What is my calling?”
2. Unquestioned Obedience to the Faith.
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” (NIV)
What do we hope for? We grow in the understanding that God is trustworthy and honors his promises.
We can be sure that his promises of salvation, eternal life, and a resurrected body will be ours someday based on who God is.
The second part of this definition acknowledges our problem: God is invisible. We can’t see heaven either.
We must know that-eternal life, begins with our individual salvation here on earth, is also something we do not see, but our faith in God makes us certain of these things, as a Biblical Leader-they key to leading is to keep the faith connected throughout the process.
3. God’s Wisdom must come First
A Biblical Leader must NOT get their intellect confused with God’s plan. We have a dream, an aspiration, or a goal, and it becomes what we believe is God’s vision. We then go to God to convince him to get on board with what we want to see happen in the world. In essence we say, “God, please bless and resource MY plans.” This leads to failure, frustration, and misguided achievements, since God did not author the vision in the first place. Here, leaders achieve only to realize the achievements were not of God. Great Biblical Leadership has to begin and end with humbleness. After we must accept that God’s vision has to be the driving force of our wisdom.
Ministry is hard! Leadership is even more challenging! There will be plenty of times when we will want to throw in the towel and do something else—anything else.
But if we are to become effective leaders we must always be willing to give the gospel it’s place in our lives and ask God to give interpretation.
This is the Fourth Part of the Series Building God’s Kingdom Series on Organic Discipleship: Also coming is a book of the series will be released in September of 2018
In the life of a person of faith-very few things are as annoying as a “person” who talks faith, looks good but doesn’t add any value to the movement. This person misrepresents their actions and deeds by lying on the regular.
This type of exaggeration is not only a hold up to the church and faith community. But, if I were to use a similarly situated secular example-I would use the example of a person who once said- that they have the skills of Basketball Legend Micheal Jordon-but when on the court they could not even pull off a grade school level jumper shot-what a major disappointment. (picture, below).
In the life of those who don’t exercise faith-they will always look for a reason to put the church down. Let’s not give them that reason, by being insincere.
According to Apostle James in Scripture_ Faith without works (deeds) is dead (James 2:26 NIV). I agree with Apostle James-When your works and deeds don’t coincide-we must consider the following takeaways:
Examine your heart, Ask God to help you grow in “TRUTH AND IN SPIRIT.”
Find out what internal struggles are inside of you and if those issues prevent you from doing sincere work. Then remove those struggles!
Remind yourself the next time you misrepresent your commitment you destroy yourself because everything we do in life echo’s in eternity.
Lastly, as people of faith we must be prepared to navigate the difficult lifelong process that is “our walk with faith.” Please know that you can’t do that if you won’t “walk the right walk.” SO STOP FRONTIN! (glg)

had this to say: “When you hear about slavery for 400 years … For 400 years? That sounds
like a choice.” Kanye’s answers seemed to not only frustrate a TMZ staffer who during the
taping answered Kanye by what seemed like an apparent verbal debate-that began
shortly thereafter. (TMZ employee’s name is Latahn. His statement is statement below):
While you are making music and being an artist and living the life that you’ve earned by being a genius, the rest of us in society have to deal with these threats to our lives,” Lathan said. “We have to deal with the marginalization that’s come from the 400 years of slavery that you said for our people was a choice.”
The quote from Kanye comes at a time when he has shown support and “Love,” for the
embattled U.S. President Donald J. Trump-also Kanye recently appeared in public
wearing a Make America Great again Red Cap (picture, below).
Kanye Tweets his “Love” for Donald Trump:
Here is his series of tweets Tuesday evening:
You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don’t agree with everything anyone does. That’s what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.
If your friend jumps off the bridge you don’t have to do the same. Ye being Ye is a fight for you to be you. For people In my life the idea of Trump is pretty much a 50 50 split but I don’t tell a Hillary supporter not to support Hillary
I love Hillary too.
As his words are setting the Twitter world on fire, Kanye tried to explain what he meant.
And then Kanye quickly made it about Kanye:
“The reason why I brought up the 400 years point is because we can’t be mentally imprisoned for another 400 years. We need free thought now. Even the statement was an example of free thought. It was just an idea. Once again I am being attacked for presenting new ideas.“
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
The move by Kanye has caused a firestorm in the face of allegations that President
Donald Trump has multiple Americans who are accusing him of stoking racism-more
specifically- by reiterating this campaign slogan: “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”-Many
disappointed fans of Kanye are responding negatively against the rappers current actions.
In addition, The President Trump recently replied to a tweet sharing a Washington
Post and other media outlets articles accusing the President of attacking prominent
African Americans “to feed his support of a belief that the system is rigged for
minorities.” We will see how this fiasco plays out for Kanye. (glg)

For Immediate Release: Media Statement from Family and Advocacy of Semaj Crosby_regarding concerns about community activist (group)
Greetings, over the course of the last few days week beginning this past week- Jedidiah Brown the Leader of the group now known as the Freedom Fighters made a declaration of support then offering their movement and assistance to the family, community, and known advocacy for Semaj Crosby. From the very start of the announcement the group made it their own mission to declare their solidarity with finding “Justice,” for Semaj Crosby a 16 month old homicide victim from Joliet Township, IL.
Despite the group’s framing of their effort as a movement to spark “national interest,” in Semaj’s already nationally known case- we are very clear that this narrative is completely false and a gross misrepresentation of the known facts as laid out by groups already on the ground including the family, the community members, officials and known advocacy -who have worked diligently and been on the ground since the very moment Semaj disappeared-please note the groups continue to work progressively to support Justice for Semaj Crosby to this very day!-For the record these groups have rallied, protested, and educated the national and international public about Semaj’s case and specifics.
Please Note: The groups by name: Justice for Semaj Action Team, Freedom First International, community members, and concerned family members including the child’s Father James Crosby have/are working with State Senators and with other officials on the ground-all to help move this case forward and find “Justice for Semaj.”
While we understand the Freedom Fighters desire for Justice, we truly believe that if our fight is to be successful and ultimately if “Justice” is won for Semaj Crosby-the effort must move forward without confusion, without misinformation tactics, and without mowing down the concerned family members, advocacy, and the community with malice.
Points that we very much like to highlight:
Freedom Fighters group began raising money through “Cash Apps” and Paypal in Semaj Crosby’s name without Authorization from the family despite the fact that the family now holds the authorization to the estate of Semaj Crosby.
They group are now using Semaj Crosby’s likeness and image again without authorization of Estate of Semaj as Freedom Fighter Brand awareness. An action which is totally unacceptable and must immediately cease. (Picture below)
Jedidiah Brown has made multiple false and unproven statements-interjecting himself into the case-even to the extent of calling local officials to solicit information.
We (advocacy) are concerned about statements and negative entanglements that already surround this group and it’s leader from their actions in Rosemont, IL with the Mother Teresa Martin of Kenneka Jenkins and statements of misappropriation of “fundraising efforts” by organizers which included Brown.
Also-Jedidah Brown personal (public) concerns of fraudulent activity as laid out by his own family members including one “Asia Love” a cousin. (video, supplied below) from earlier this year. This includes Brown’s known public suicide attempt from Lakeshore Drive (article below).
In Closing at this point-we as the community don’t mind anyone who offers to help and that help is readily welcome it-but we must be clear in the fact that we would hope and pray for the help that is sincere. We would go on to say sincere help is very much needed, respected and more then appreciated form those who have not shown a serious pattern of misdirection, alienation of others, which only adds to the confusion of a very complex case. As far as the Freedom Fighters-At this point we must clearly disregard any offer for help unless authorized by our coalition.
We must note that at this point we need legislation, “more vigils and prayers.”

Are media advisers willing to give one on one interviews: Yes
Tomorrow April 29, 2017 –at 12:00 pm at Grand Rapids Police HQ

National news from Grand Rapids, Michigan shows a concerned mother is speaking out after an extremely disturbing video that was released showing officers holding a group of unarmed black teens, including her 14-year-old son, at gunpoint on the ground.
The incident happened after Grand Rapids police responded to a report of 100 teenagers fighting, but after searching the area police only found about 20 or 25 youths and no fight, and obviously “no guns,” Grand Rapids Police Public Information Officer Terry Dixon told ABC News today
“Guys, get on the ground. Keep your hands out,” a Grand Rapids police officer tells a group of youths in the video. “Just follow our directions and we’ll be all right, OK?” This March 24 exchange, which was caught on body camera, came after a report of a group of teenagers carrying a gun; however, police later learned these youths weren’t armed.
Shawndryka Moore, whose 14-year-old son was among the teens forced to the ground, told ABC News in an interview that her son was confused and traumatized. “A whole month later it still hurts,” Moore said. “The hurtful part is how badly this could have ended. … my son and others on the ground by people that’s supposed to protect them.”
A police spokesman said the officers’ actions followed protocol and displayed “professionalism … throughout the entire ordeal,” though the spokesman added that “it is unfortunate … the teens had to endure this.”
The questions we must ask ourselves. We could ask-Why would any police take the word of a man and hold a pistol over the body of 13-year-old boys? Why would any witness’ story be changed? The statement below is from one of the organizers of the Press ConferenceIt’s because- They are victims of a police force that overwhelmingly assumes first that most young black men are criminals followed by fear of them. They are victims of bad legislation, like the Florida’s Stand Your Ground law, that gives anyone the unfettered right to kill “us” if they feel threatened in any way by “us.”.We need more love in our communities! We don’t see the same love and acceptance for our black children unconditionally that you see in other communities even the white areas. Regardless of our child’s age- We demand respect and to instill feelings of acceptance and self-worth. I would suggest to the Police on the ground that day-”You teach children, by how you treat them, that they are valuable and worthy of love.”At any point, these children could have been a Trayvon Martin or a Tamir Rice! As Police Officials, you have the power to stave off feelings of emptiness that these young men feel day by day but it’s that unfortunate you choose not to! Instead, you penalize the children and for the rest of their lives, they develop a mistrust of Police Officials.Sure, you say that pointing the Gun at them was a protocol and procedure, but I ask did you- talk to your children about racism ― tell them that Tamir Rice was just an innocent child whose death was motivated by racism. Ultimately some of these questions will be answered by investigators. Other questions—the deeper, more disturbing ones that ask about equality and intolerance—must be answered by our communities, and we will not accept any answer as sufficient. We will be the voice that controls the Narrative of our community.
For your part, a public apology is in order and I also ask that you make a proclamation for change. Nothing else will be sufficient.
For my part I’m organizing a “Peaceful Protest Rally to be scheduled at 1 Monroe Center St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 at noon this Saturday.”
