For Immediate Release: Community Activist Leadership to hold Press Conference/ Are preparing Legal Battle against Mayor Rahm Emanuel for misuse of public funds and his position.

(Press Conference-at City Hall-2rd Floor  )

 ***** Media Advisory *****

A press conference to Chicago lay out the case against Mayor Rahm Emanuel usage city funds to pay off nonprofits, faith leaders, community activist, and social justice workers “as if those funds were his special personal slush fund.” In the wake of the Laquan McDonald shooting fallout- Rahm Emanuel’s effort was coordinated to quiet any opposition that directly resulted with Emanuel trying to turn around all negativity and harm done to his looming political image in the wake of the McDonald shooting and also growing public disapproval ratings—In addition to growing citizen mistrust in the Chicago police stands out amongst other major problems that Rahm tried to quell-which ignited his misuse of public funds.

The activist investigating the issue, seriously question if the local community is aware of the selfish and disturbing use of diverted City of Chicago funds by the Chicago Mayor. The funds in question under normal circumstances should have been used for awarding independent non-profits and civic organizations primarily to better the city through scholarships and city programs.

Many who understand that the established culture at Chicago City Hall- under Emanuel has long been able to avoid real accountability — and also we should mention Emanuel’s avoidance of sworn depositions — because City Hall bureaucrats, like those in the Chicago Police Department, continue to operate under the unwritten policies protection of policies, practices and legal standards aimed to shield the Mayor from potential harm.

For our effort-more specifically-they we want to send a clear message, that simple says, “we still haven’t forgotten, and we are prepared for a legal show down.” Leading Social Justice organizations involved are Chicago Violence Interrupters, Freedom First International, The Chicago SCLC, Tree of Life Justice League of IL along with a growing list others. Join us!

A Faith Commentary: If God Gave you five minutes to Live by!

If God gave you five minutes to live by, what would you do in those last moments. Would you try to fulfill any dream that you have always wanted to complete?
Would you spend that time saying goodbye, to your family members? Or would you spend that time traveling finding the worldly exotic pleasures-that made you happy in life? After all was said and done would you wait until the last minute to “get it right with God.”

The Christian Faith dictates, that followers should not wait until the end of their lives to obey, honor, and empower your faith. One reason why we all must react is because no one knows the appointed time the end will come. Much like the corporate manager who puts the junior manager in charge of the office while he is away. As people of faith we must plan for this very important moment at the end of our lives by taking charge of our lives until our leader(God) returns. Tragically, most people don’t prepare for the moment when death catches up to them but God ask us to proceed with eternity in mind.

Stories of those who have had a deathbed conversation, show that if you look mostly at elderly people, you will find that they always tend to take the end of days more seriously and are better prepared. In truth none of us know when were going to die, perhaps we’ll live until old age or maybe you’ll die in a tragic car accident tomorrow. (Hope not!)

If you haven’t done so, make your life right with God Today-Tell him that you are sorry for all sin. Then make every effort to obey him. Regardless of the circumstances. When it’s over all that really matters is what you’ve done.

Key Question: What immediate steps can you take to incorporate these changes right now into your life.

For Immediate Release: Community Leadership to hold Press Conference outside of the University of Chicago to Call Chicago Violence a Public Health Epidemic (Crisis)

(Press Conference-at U of C call for action )

breaking_news

***** Media Advisory *****

For those who live in Chicagoland and surrounding communities-official efforts to change the underlying conditions that contribute to violence—in homes, schools, and neighborhoods have largely failed as we now reach and surpass historical levels of homicides.  There is a strong and growing base, grounded in research and experiential evidence (practitioner and community wisdom) that supports this fact. A group of community leaders and activist will hold a press conference tomorrow at the University of Chicago because they believe  that violence is preventable, not inevitable- if the correct tools and resources are in place. More specifically, The community knows what it takes to prevent violence.

Coming off of a violent Memorial Day weekend, Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson did strike a similar theme in a speech to the City Club of Chicago, bemoaning the senselessness of all the shootings, the department’s fractured relationship with the community and the broken judicial system that is too much a revolving door for the most dangerous criminals. Johnson also lamented a gang culture that sinks its hooks into youngsters in Chicago’s most dangerous neighborhoods “almost at birth,” he said.”So by the time they’re 12, their destiny is set,” he told a few hundred civic leaders. “It’s either prison or death.”

Recognizing violence as a crucial prevention issue for health and equity,  an organization comprised of activist, community organizers, and leaders-all who already have made a major commitment to helping city devise comprehensive plans and strategies for reducing and preventing violence are calling for their effort to categorize Violence as a Public health epidemic will catalyze national momentum. They intend to launch their efforts by asking for support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The University of Chicago, and other major public institutions. Leading Social Justice organizations involved are Chicago Violence Interrupters, Freedom First International, The Chicago SCLC, along with a growing list others. In addition the group will announce further efforts to organize around this effort, as well as a online public petition.

Lessons from the Heart: A Ring Box Christian.

(Lessons from the Heart: A Ring Box Christian-Part 1 of a 15 part series)

Marriage is an institution that solidifies the symbol of a union between a man and woman, it starts when a person gives an engagement ring which is a precious piece of jewelry-and we might add that it can be passed down through generations — if you take proper care of it.

Of course, most people will never open their ring box and expect something ugly inside, but if there were ever a circumstance where a young man got on one knee and pulled out the ring box to give it to a young lady and she responded by saying, what a “beautiful box, it’s what I’ve always wanted, throw away what’s inside, I’m the happiest women on earth.” Then most people would probably say, this is a comedy skit of some type.

In reality, the ring on the inside is always the main attraction of the moment, the box solely exist to make the ring look good-Mostly you would see features like black or white satin or velvet aligning the box to make the ring stand out and shine.

But if we are to follow the Apostle Paul-who uses jars of Clay to make the same reference in 1 Corinthians 1:18-31- Paul simply declares, that we are ordinary people -in ordinary packages not ornate glass vases. Paul then urges us to not live in a way that draws attention to ourselves-instead we seek to showcase the brilliance and beauty of the spiritual being inside of us. In an age in which we see preachers wear diamond watches, ask for “new” jets planes-to replace the older model that works perfectly fine, arrive in a motorcade of limousines and highlight the reaching influence in their community of the national ministries.

The Prophets of Biblical age probably wouldn’t have been impressed by the new age “money earning” preachers in our modern time. They (Prophets) by all historical doctrine were humble men of humble beginnings. If we are to be “true,” people of faith, acknowledge that humility is vital to discipleship, which requires that we love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). All that is inside of us.

diamondReading

That means the truly “ring box,” outside will never replace the shining diamond on the inside of you, as Paul would suggest-we simply have to understand, the diamond treasure inside of you shines brightest, only when you polish your soul. Inside of you is the brightest, biggest diamond that man has ever seen. So forget about the wonderful outside, work on the diamond inside of you. glg

The result is a wave of crime against civilians in which these murderers continue to harm the public and further inaction from the D.O.J will only increase these crimes.

DOJ

Many believe, The U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch and the courts cannot continue to ignore the fact that we (community) need policy emphasizing efforts to prosecute bad cops and the refusal is causing a national epidemic. According to an ongoing petition from Amnesty International:

The U.S. government must do more to ensure policing practices nationwide are brought into line with international human rights standards, including the use of lethal force, and to address systemic racial discrimination. The Fight within-A Faith Commentary

Posted on Updated on

Greer Front Banner 2016

When I worked in corporate America, I seem to remember many days traveling from area to area on the highways for meetings. I remember many days listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show and the many funny stories that I heard. One story-was about a young man who started, taking karate lessons due to a bully who would take his lunch money everyday. This young man was smaller than the “big stocky bully.” The karate teacher soon told the young man that he would need to pay five dollars per lesson ($5.00). So the young man decided to pay the bully-due to the fact that it would be cheaper-that way.

Karate-Wallpapers-HD

Well, I must say-isn’t that like may of us? We believe like this young man did- that it’s easier to pay the bully then to learn how to defeat him. Sadly, for many of us-we continue to allow those of the world and the unfaithful to instill an unjust system of beliefs on us that we know are not for us, rather than to stand up and fight! We would continue to live while suffering, rather then to live while standing up for something we believe in-and that something is us!

Many of us may say-what’s the difference-they don’t really care about us! but the question is do you care about yourself, and your love ones?

Ok, here’s the major question, How can we win the battle, and defeat those in the world-who oppress us?  Honestly, we can’t defeat these folks. We alone do not have in our possession-neither the strength or fortitude to defeat the wicked. If we want to win in this battle we must become a collective, and connect the dots, wickedness can be conquered-but if we attempt to face it alone we are lost.

For those of us who are oppressed by worldly power-we must discipline ourselves to call on Godly power, and use physical, psychological and ultimately spiritual power. We will win! Lastly-Paul reminds us that we battle not against flesh and blood, but principalities-spiritual wickedness in high places. Only then will we possibly make real the creed, “one nation-under God indivisible-with liberty and justice for all.
PEACE and LOVE,
