Killing of John Crawford III is one of the historic miscarriages of justice that exist in America todate!

Posted on Updated on

August 5, 2015 will be the one year anniversary of -The Shooting of John Crawford III. which is one of the historic miscarriages of justice that exist in America to date and according to witnesses, and there is no conceivable reason that the officers should have not been indicted.
 On August 5 2014, police shot and killed John Crawford III (July 29, 1992 – August 5, 2014) at a Walmart in Beavercreek, Ohio, near Dayton, Ohio, after receiving a 911 call that falsely indicated he was waving a real firearm at people. It turned out Crawford was carrying a toy gun (from inside the store’s sporting goods section) ,which looked like an assault rifle.  Crawford at 22-years-old was shot to death by Beavercreek police officer Sean Williams.

The shooting was captured by the store’s security video camera. Video showed Crawford talking on his cell-phone while holding the BB/pellet air rifle, when he was killed. According to Crawford’s mother, and others who witnessed to the footage the video shows the officers fired immediately without giving any verbal commands and without giving Crawford any time to drop the toy even if he had heard them. The Lying 911 caller Ritchie was questioned, but in a very uncritical, non-aggressive manner. Ronald Tyler Ritchie’s (pictured, below) false information, given during that emergency call – by most estimations – led to the death of not only John Crawford, but also another shopper who died of a heart attack.  After Officer Sean Williams opened fire in the store. 37-year-old  Angela Williams was a homicide. Angela Williams, no relation to Officer Williams, death is officially listed as homicide due to the  circumstances inside of the Beavercreek Walmart on August 5th.According William Harden, the Greene County Coroner’s Office chief investigator: “If she had been walking around normally and just collapsed, that would be a natural death.”
Ritchie acknowledged to the detective that nothing he said on the phone was true.

One World Media (TM) We should note both officers statements were inconsistent.

Walmart surveillance footage was later released to the public, but not before a grand jury decided not to indict Williams on criminal charges. The video showed that Crawford – who was still on his phone – was shot from the side while apparently moving to run away from the advancing armed officers.  Footage synced by the FBI with a recording of the 911 call indicated that Williams shot Crawford about one second after he and Darkow rounded a corner into the pet products aisle, where Crawford had been standing for five minutes.

Williams shot Crawford about one second after he and Darkow rounded a corner into the pet products aisle, where Crawford had been standing for five minutes.
Police then interrogated Crawford’s girlfriend for more than 90 minutes before telling her Crawford was dead, the Guardian’s Jon Swaine reported: (pictured, below)

Tasha Thomas was reduced to swearing on the lives of her relatives that John Crawford III had not been carrying a firearm when they entered the Walmart in Beavercreek, near Dayton, to buy crackers, marshmallows and chocolate bars on the evening of 5 August.

Tasha Thomas was reduced to swearing on the lives of her relatives that John Crawford III had not been carrying a firearm

“You lie to me and you might be on your way to jail,” detective Rodney Curd told Thomas, as she wept and repeatedly offered to take a lie-detector test. After more than an hour and a half of questioning and statement-taking, Curd finally told Thomas that Crawford, 22, had died.

One World Media (TM) Officers Cleared of criminal charges!

On Sept. 25, 2014 Officer Williams was cleared of criminal charges by a Greene County special grand jury of five men and four women. Neither Darkow nor the 911 caller were considered for charges. Answering one paragraph, Beavercreek attorneys wrote, defendants “have no knowledge of whether all police officers are trained to understand that many 911 callers provide inaccurate or otherwise unsubstantiated information, and are notoriously unreliable eye-witnesses.”

The special grand jury heard from 18 witnesses and then voted against potential charges of murder, reckless homicide and negligent homicide against Williams. At least seven “yes” votes were needed for a charge to be approved. Grand jury votes are not made public.

Following the shooting a grand jury decided not to indict any of the officers involved. The Justice Department is conducting its own investigation. Meanwhile, the officer who shot Crawford remains on desk duty.

Crawford’s mother believes that the surveillance tape shows the police lied in their account of events, and has spoken out against the killing at a “Justice for All” march. The family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Walmart and the Beavercreek police department.

One World Media (TM) Other Factors worth noting

  • Even among die-hard police supporters and apologists, few believed that John Crawford was to blame for being shot. Most pointed the finger at 911-caller Ronald Ritchie, but it was clear that in an open carry state, and in a store that sells both guns and BB-guns, there is nothing illegal, nor even particularly out of the ordinary about handling a replica firearm, taken from the very shelves of the store.
  • Ohio State Representative Alicia Reece has proposed a “John Crawford’s Law”, which would change the way toy guns look to prevent similar tragedies.
  • The family is seeking more than $75,000 in damages, citing the children Crawford left behind. Wal-Mart, the city of Beavercreek and Beavercreek Police Chief Dennis Evers are named in the lawsuit, which was filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. The lawsuit also names the officer who shot Crawford, Sean Williams, and his partner on the scene, David Darkow.

  • Tasha Thomas, who in a harsh interrogation was falsely accused of helping Crawford smuggle the gun into the store that  August, was killed in a bizarre high-speed car crash in Dayton on New Year’s Day, local media reported. (pictured left)
  • To date lead activist organizations and at least one big-name civil rights heavyweight has said many nice words to support John Crawford Jr, and his family on the ground fighting against Walmart and the Beavercreek Police Department to “Release the Tape,” but none  hardly ever once mobilized on the ground or the ground effort was lacking with the exception of a group of dedicated loyalist.  In the meantime Walmart alines with many of the big name activist pockets financially!

One World Media (TM) August 5, 2015 will be John Crawford’s National Day

To date the Family and advocacy are awaiting charges. Currently-The Justice Department has will launched an investigation into the shooting death of Crawford inside the Ohio Wal-Mart, just hours after a local grand jury voted not to indict the police officer who shot him.

On August 5, 2015 in Beavercreek, Ohio activist will be present at the Walmart location where John was killed by Officer Williams. On that date there will be multiple participating cities nationwide! Use this Link for more information

The Need for Urban Christian Leadership: “Life” Lessons we must teach our children.

One World By Gregg L Greer, Editor for One World
The not guilty verdict and acquittal of all charges against George Zimmerman in the case of Trayvon Martin, and the more recent Darren Wilson in the case of Mike Brown has angered many people because some feel that “justice,” was not served and both cases. In both cases the killings of these young African American Men (teenagers). Is a tragedy without question! Many believe that race played a role in the jury’s judgments? The what does this demonstrate about our country’s ability to provide justice for all? let’s discuss these questions.
Strangely enough there is a similarity between both cases, but there are some lingering questions we must ask ourselves. We could ask-Why would police take the word of a man holding a pistol over the body of a boy? Why would any witness’ story be changed?

As a Nation did we fail?

Ultimately some of these questions will be answered by investigators. Other questions—the deeper, more disturbing ones that ask about equality and intolerance—must be answered within our classrooms and our courtrooms. These dark  (deeper) questions have grown from our living rooms and our televisions. Their very existence attests that we, as a nation, have failed our Trayvon Martins, and are failing our Mike Browns.

Before his death at the hands of a white police officer, Michael Brown had graduated from Normandy High School – a school whose academic standards and finances were so poor that it had been declared “unaccredited” by Missouri state education authorities.

During the 2011-2012 school year, 829 young black men and women were meted out one out-of-school suspension by Ferguson-Florissant. That’s 8.1 percent of the 10,197 black children attending the district’s schools, according to data submitted to the U.S. Department of Education.

  • A recent study by the Office for Civil Rights shows that the percentage of young black men suspended from school (as Martin was) is far greater than that of their peers. However, Chief Charles Hurley of the Miami-Dade School Police Department (MDSPD) in 2010 had implemented a policy that reduced the number of criminal reports, manipulating statistics to create the appearance of a reduction in crime within the school system. Less than two weeks before Martin’s death, the school system commended Chief Hurley for “decreasing school-related juvenile delinquency by an impressive 60 percent for the last six months of 2011.”
  • Another study, by The Sentencing Project, examines vastly disproportionate rates of incarceration for African-American Men. We should be asking ourselves why these disparities exist?

Deep rooted Victim Complex

Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown both were not victims of their seemingly racist killers alone. They both were  victims of the lopsided school systems that failed them. They where victims of a police force that overwhelmingly assumes first that most young black men are criminals followed by fear of them. They are a victims of bad legislation, like the Florida’s Stand Your Ground law, that gives anyone the unfettered right to kill if they feel threatened in any way.

They are victims of a certain Moral blindnessWhich means every single black person in the eyes of a racist  is the sign of a terrible crime from their ugly past, a reminder that their life is a fraud, that they need to simply own up to their past and make it right. Instead of denying, shifting blame, or to lie, twisting the facts and make black people into these creatures that they look down on, laugh at and yet, oddly, fear. It is a failed attempt to be at “peace,” with themselves.

They are victims of us because we need more love in our communities! We need to love and accept our children unconditionally. Regardless of our child’s age, we have to instill feelings of acceptance and self-worth. Teach our children, by how you treat them, that they  are valuable and worthy of love. It doesn’t matter if you don’t agree with every choice or interest of your child.

(AP Photo/Charlie Riedel)

Tomorrow, look around your community (your home). Do you have any Trayvon Martins? As an educator, you have the power to stave off the emptiness of young Brown’s death. Talk to your children about racism. Question legislation that endorses vigilantism. Speak up against police inaction. Tell your child that he is protected, first by “God,” and then you. We all must champion our children’s rights.

Nothing will fully fill the void created in the lives of Trayvon’s and Mike’s family, TMEfriends and teachers. But Trayvon’s empty desk must become a symbol of awareness and change—a sign to our society that the current state of affairs is not acceptable, and we won’t let you or anyone else destroy us and our future without a fight!

Star Witness for Brown Case Prosecutor-A liar and Fraud

Posted on Updated on

One World By Gregg L Greer, Editor for One World

Sandy McElroy and Bob McCollouch
Sandy McElroy and Bob McCollouch

So apparently the only witness, witness #40, who testified that Mike Brown charged Darren Wilson and beat Wilson, and the only witness Bob McCulloch determined to be credible fabricated her entire story. In a report by the Smoking Gun they identify witness #40 as 45-year-old St. Louis resident Sandra McElroy who was nowhere near Canfield Drive on the Saturday afternoon Brown was shot to death.

The #FBI had already determined she was not credible and could not have been in the area, but prosecutors still used her testimony to help out Darren Wilson. In addition to her fabrication in the Mike Brown case she has also inserted herself in other high-profile St. Louis cases and was found to be lying. She also has a long history of making vicious racist remarks online and offline including many racist remarks made on social media following Mike Brown’s death.

She waited four weeks to come forward as a witness, after Wilson’s outline of his account were made public, and made many comments on Facebook that proved she had no idea what transpired on Canfield Drive that day. She has a criminal history, is bi-polar, and suffered an injury from a car accident that affects her memory. So a confirmed liar that is known to insert herself into cases and fabricate testimony, is a vile racist, has a criminal history, was determined to not be credible by the FBI, wasn’t even at the scene of the Brown killing, and is the only witness to corroborate Wilson’s story was the prosecutions star witness. All by itself the inclusion of Sandy McElroy as a witness before the grand jury is grounds for a new grand jury. Her testimony possibly has done irreparable damage to the case.

The Lessons of Ferguson and Beyond-Several Ways to Combat Violence, Prevent, and maintain a community that fosters Accountability not Punishment!

One World The Lessons of Ferguson and Beyond-Several Ways to Combat Violence, Prevent, and maintain a community that fosters Accountability not Punishment!

By Gregg L Greer, Editor for One World

In Ferguson, Missouri the town that was rocked with protests over police On Saturday, August 9, 2014, when an unarmed 18-year-old male, Michael Brown, was fatally shot by Darren Wilson, a Ferguson police officer many in the community around the country where not surprised to hear of multiple stories of police abuse that had taken place. While the Justice Department has launched a broad investigation into the police department in Ferguson, Missouri, following the shooting of Mike Brown, many African-American residents still feel that the situation is hopeless and are still very frustrated.  In order to effect change we (residents) must strive to repair the harm caused by crime to individual victims and communities, the focus must be two-sided, that means prevention of Police Brutality as well as prevention of a culture that chronic criminal offenders are punished on all sides is much needed.

In an a recent interview with CBS "Sunday Morning Marquis Govan a resident that is 11 years old, argued for change
In an a recent interview with CBS “Sunday Morning Marquis Govan a resident that is 11 years old, argued for change

In an a recent interview with CBS “Sunday Morning Marquis Govan a resident that is 11 years old, argued for change,” Govan shared his vision for Ferguson, saying he thinks one way to improve things is for the town to hire more African-American police officers. But Govan told CBS’ Jane Pauley there’s a reason you don’t see many minorities on the police force.

 Look, let me tell you why: From the beginning we’ve felt abused by these people. Why would you go up to serve among the abusers? It doesn’t make any sense,” Govan said.

While, many would dismiss the point of view of an 11 year old, Marquis Govan does make an effective augment. To fight police abuse effectively, communities must have realistic expectations. You must not expect too much of any one remedy because no single remedy will cure the problem. A “mix” of reforms is required. And even after citizen action has won reforms, your community must keep the pressure on through monitoring and oversight to ensure that the reforms are actually implemented.

Nonetheless, even one person, or a small group of persistent people, can make a big difference. Sometimes outmoded and abusive police practices prevail largely because no one has ever questioned them.

CONTROL-Starts with You!

Most people (residents) don’t get it! -The community is the nexus of community justice; therefore, each individual community must began to understand that community is the preferred source of problem solving and citizens work to prevent victimization, provide conflict resolution and maintain peace. The community, including individual victims and offenders, must become the ultimate partner of the justice system for every residents safety and well-being. Here are some basic suggestions;

(The goals listed are suggestions that will ultimately provide a safe environment for all if your community or it’s officials are in any way in opposition to any goal that will promote betterment. Fight for it! Period!)

Restorative and Community Justice Forums

Everyone makes mistakes-but “Restorative Justice,” is an approach to justice that doesn’t focus on the needs of the victims and the offenders, it also involves the community, instead of satisfying abstract legal principles or punishing the offender. The emphasis is on meeting the needs of and strengthening the community-Not Punishment which is the basis of the Criminal Justice System!

Community justice is a strategic method of crime reduction and prevention, which builds or enhances partnerships within communities. Community justice policies confront crime and delinquency through proactive, problem-solving practices aimed at prevention, control, reduction and reparation of the harm crime has caused.

 Positive effects of a comprehensive community justice strategy:

Includes both adult and juvenile offenders;

Focuses on creating safer communities rather than on doing things to or for offenders;

Pursues the goal of public safety within a scope of preventing victimization;

Places a high priority on the rights and needs of victims and the community;

Seeks harmonious working relations among all justice components and practices, citizens, community and social service organizations, educational systems, and faith communities;

Focuses on problems causing as well as caused by crime; and

Promotes correctional programming that is based on sound research and measurable for effectiveness.

 Why we need Restorative/Community Justice

Restorative justice is a practice centered on the idea that justice can be about healing instead of simply “punishment.” It emphasizes repairing harms rather than punishing crimes, giving victims and offenders the opportunity to engage in dialogue around the harm itself, assessing the impact on the victim and outlining the steps necessary to ensure offender accountability and meet the victim’s needs.

Victims take an active role in the process, while offenders are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions, “to repair the harm they’ve done—by apologizing, returning stolen money, or community service”. Restorative justice involves both victim and offender and focuses on their personal needs. In addition, it provides help for the offender in order to avoid future offences. It is based on a theory of justice that considers crime and wrongdoing to be an offence against an individual or community.

Recognize and Resolve the problem!

These efforts help to create and maintain a vital, healthy, safe and just community where crime and delinquency cannot flourish is key. Crime is confronted by addressing social disorder, criminal activities and behavior, and by holding offenders accountable for the harm they cause to victims and the community. Working to prevent crime and its harmful effects; doing justice by addressing problems rather than merely complaining, processing cases; and promoting community protection through proactive, problem-solving work practices plus interventions go along way into changing criminal behavior behavior. In short, no one deserves to lose their life for something that could have been avoided, and some cases-stories of justice may be push the limits above and beyond right and wrong. Then you must fight for your rights!

A Letter to the Grand Wizard of the KKK-Concerning Statements of Mike Brown’s Killing

BLUE Print Bridge Banner (PE)

By Gregg L Greer, Editor for One World

Thomas Robb, also known as Thom Robb, is the national director of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.
Thomas Robb, also known as Thom Robb, is the national director of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

On August 24, 2014 Thomas Robb KKK or Klu Klux Klan National Director posted a disgusting story called, Goodbye Mike Brown – Hello White Genocide  concerning The Mike Brown Shooting on the KKK website. The page began by stating, ” Mike Brown’s parents blame institutional racism for the death of their son, perhaps they should point the finger back at themselves.” This move has caused a major stink, amongst civil rights advocates and amounts to big problems for Robb.  (First, a history and  some additional background on Thomas Robb)

Thomas Robb is an Arkansas-based “alleged”  (as he fashions himself as a Christian Identity Pastor) in addition to being the head of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, which he took over in the 1980s after the departure of David Duke-who was his mentor-Robb took over leadership of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

In His Own Words:

“When the Negro was under the natural discipline of white authority, white people were safe from the abuse and violence of the Negro, but the Negro was also safe from himself.”
 – Editorial in The Torch, April 1990
 Rather than the traditional title of “Imperial Wizard,” Robb opted for the less-charged “National Director.” Robb took up Duke’s strategy of using the Internet to reach a wider audience, giving the false appearance of an explosion in Klan growth. Robb also attempted to start a family oriented Klan camp, aimed at creating a “kinder, gentler” image for the  Klan.

According to data from Southern Poverty Law Center In the aftermath of President Obama’s election in 2008, Robb characterized what he saw as a “race war … between our people, who I see as the rightful owners and leaders of this great country, and their people, the blacks.”

According to the Thomas Robb Ministries website, “We believe that the Anglo-Saxon, Germanic, Scandinavian, and kindred people are The people of the Bible – God’s separated and anointed Israel.” The statement goes on to declare, “Our people must … resist the call of Satan, which the Bible says will come disguised as light and love … brotherly – interracial love.”

More About the Article

According to recent article written in the Huffington Post by  Eternity E. Martis Huffington Post Lifestyle writer, blogger, mixed-race feminist,  “What happened to Michael Brown at the hands of a white police officer is a deep-seated fear of a never-ending nightmare for the entire Black community, especially for Black men. Due to an unfortunate stain on our history, Black men are so often rendered inferior in all totality, demonized by the myth of the brute, Black rapist, or the uneducated thug deserving of death. And while these Black men whether they are North American or from across the globe hold the tremendous burden of being feared and spurned by society, so do the women who love them.”

Rachel Pendergraft KKK Leader, and Daughter of Robb Thomas-who actually wrote the article-stated, “I’m sick and tired of hearing about the crime in majority black areas.  Maybe if they would stop harassing hard-working cops who try to keep their neighborhoods safe instead of playing the race card all the time, they wouldn’t  find themselves victims of black on black crime.  Even black cops know what problem is, if they are honest enough to admit it.  All anyone wants is for them to act – well, civilized.  Is that too much to ask?  But then again, its racist to ask them to live up to a certain standard – so we’re told.” (Rachel Pendergraft / Knights Party)

In a recent interview Mark Pitcavage, the director of investigative research for the Anti-Defamation League, calls this extremism.  He characterizes the  Klan as “group of hard-core whites.”  According to Mark in a recent interview from CNN-The current Klan is not one cohesive group, and is considered one of the traditional white supremacist groups, which emerged in the civil rights era.

According to Pitcavage “The situation that existed in the 1950s and ’60s simply does not exist. The white supremacists are no longer in charge. They are now fighting for the very survival of the white race, and they have to fight to protect,” said Pitcavage. “This is a fundamental difference of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1950s and today in the 21st century.”

Black Life Matters!

After reading the KKK article, I realized that I heard of Thomas Robb, from my past when dealing with a Klan issue in South Carolina. In any event-I felt it was my duty to write Robb Thomas, as a Man, as a Christian Man and A Strong African-American Man.

 In America-Any of our 18-year old children should not have to fear fighting back because they fear getting shot or killed. These are not Black children, these are our children and know, the issue is the same even if it’s happening amongst white, Asian, or Black Kids-innocent human life was lost-period!  The sad part is that many African-Americans now believe their children stand a greater chance of death, because of the unfortunate situation with Brown and others. I must say, I’m inclined to agree. I must add-Black Life Matters!  and All Life Matters!

 My Editorial Letter to Grand Wizard Robb Thomas

National Director of The Knights, Pastor Thomas Robb

PO Box 2222, Harrison, AR 72601

Mr. Thomas Robb

After reading about your allowing a character assassination of Mike Brown based on a recent article Stop White Genocide-I’m Outraged! Where is the outrage? Because of the high level of ignorance you have displayed concerning the death of an innocent young black man.

For many years you (KKK) have worked in darkness, ruthlessly, and shamefully. You have killed and attacked my people unsuspected (when their backs were turned) and wrongly, and with a sustained satanic evil at every level. In convert (not openly)- you have built jails, prisons, courtrooms and police departments. Have you no Shame! The world will never believe in you simply because for years you have operated with such a mundane, unsophisticated, unintelligent level.

Maybe in the 1920’s, 1930’s. Your Klan like violence was successfully used to control our social behavior, but still with little success. Black churches and schools were burned, teachers and children were attacked, and my people who refused to show proper deference were beaten and killed. But know this, “Black America has fought their attackers, rebuilt their churches and schools, and shot back during attacks on their communities.” While these attacks surely terrorized some, you have failed to destroy the Spiritual, cultural, and Social independence that Blacks, Latino’s, and minorities are gaining every day in our modern times.

As a Christian Pastor my people do not believe any of this hype, (never will). This Racist Propaganda written so as to try to incite young Black males, I warn you; you will only evoke us into more positive action. Every time we hear of your rallies, or see your racist literature-it does nothing but let us know that you still haven’t gotten there, also you have yet to learn the lessons afforded to you by history. Your vision of an Aryan White Nation is a mere “fantasy,” that never existed, never will! Many of your Aryan Brotherhood don’t believe in your cause that is exactly why they hide behind those sheets. They are not going to tell you this, because “openness,” is not their style.

Really what matters in the end is not what we do in good times but instead what we do when we fall short.  In this case, putting a group of people into a box based on cultural upbringing or race box is disgraceful and then putting a “Ku Klux Klan” label on is more disgraceful.  Do the right thing, Mr. Robb, apologize and take back your statement.  Most of us are good, decent, hard-working God-loving people who love our families and, regardless of how we live, we want a good life not just for us, but for everybody and we want to live in a country where our constitutionally guaranteed freedoms remain intact, without having to turn a street corner and then have our children slaughtered like livestock solely because of the color of his/her skin.

The venomous hatred that has been fueling the riots in Ferguson and the character assassination of Wilson is just a moment in time, “If you think you have problems with minorities now, just wait until we are the majority.”  Well, that day is fast approaching and when it happens yes, it will happen fast-“there will be no hills for you to run and hide.”  Already, your racist children are the minority in America and your even in sister white nations.  You can disagree, but the next couple decades will see an unprecedented demographic shift that will make the Ferguson riots seem like a “Sunday,” walk in the park. This warning, will only come once-My compassion is only because I know the serious misjudgment (error) you make that will only bring you pain. For my part-I will debate and educate with you and your people anywhere of choice in America anytime! Black Life Matters! Abandon, this issue, I pray you hear me. Black Life Matters!

 The KKK article raises an important question: In a time when we already have compounded confusion  =everyday on mainline Cable news we have bad news 24/7 if we so choose, but what’s the psychological impact of all this exposure to tragedy ? Well, as for the KKK, many feel strongly that they’re still horrible racists with a history entrenched in bigotry and hate, so I say, “To hell with ’em.”  Obviously.
