As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Ephesians 4:0

_

In past reflections, we have considered the fact that if you have a calling, then you also have a caller, or, better yet, a divine Caller. Understand, that the Creator of the universe, the King of kings and Lord of lords has called you to belong to him and to join him in his creative, restorative work in the world.  It is exactly with this thought that anyone who has aspirations to be in service to God must proceed with understanding the desire for Godly truth.

_

Does Your Desire of his Truth Penetrate Your Mind and Heart

Have you allowed the wonder of this truth to penetrate your mind and heart? Do you feel honored by the fact that God wants you and has called you?

_

We all must understand that God’s purpose for Christians is that we might bring honor to His holy name as we enjoy our relationship with Him for all eternity. Since the nature of fallen humanity is such that our primary motivation is to honor ourselves and not God, a work of God’s grace is required to change motives, beliefs, and actions.

So Honoring God means humbling ourselves and taking to heart God’s person and purposes. The question that we all must ask is how much God’s will weighs heavily upon our thoughts and lives. Our teaching about God and His purposes and our treatment of the people to whom He sends us will either honor or dishonor God.

God Is 1

_

Honoring the God Who Is!

In order to please God, one “must believe that He is” (Heb. 11:6). The existence of the eternal God is asserted throughout the Bible, beginning with Genesis 1:1. Those who refuse to honor God even in the face of the clear evidence for His existence abide under the wrath of God (Rom. 1:18,19).

_

God’s attributes can be divided into those that uniquely belong to God and cannot be “communicated” to His creatures and those that can be found in some form in humans. These categories are communicable and incommunicable attributes. To fully honor God, we must be careful to know, acknowledge, and teach the attributes of God that are revealed in Scripture.

_

Has God Shown Me My Gifts? (Affirmation)

After sensing a desire for pastoral ministry, we need to ask a more objective question about our gifting. Have I seen evidence, however small, of fruitfulness in serving others through biblical teaching and counsel? And, even more important than my own self-assessment, do others confirm my giftings for pastoral ministry?

_

According to Bishop Don Adams of Building God’s Kingdom International Network. “Remember Election is important many people have a calling on their lives but it has to start with truth. An old saying that many people use to this day is “They weren’t sent they just went.” In my opinion-one way that a person will know that you are called is if they from “run from it.” ” Those that are not called “run to it.” Meaning they are too eager to hold a position.
“We don’t get excited over titles nor do we get excited over positions.”  A calling on your life is like when you take you first steps as a baby-one step at a time.
Regardless of the outcome when you are eager to learn-you are more acceptive to learn how to walk, then your status of learning is beyond what the next person would expect, but even then-we must realize that with any calling one must know that everyone is not called to lead.”

_
Perhaps you have had an experience like this in your life. But, whether you’ve been literally called by someone important to do something important or not, you have been called by the most important being in the Universe—namely, God—to do the most important thing a human being can do—is to participate in God’s creative and redemptive work-This is true.
In Order to help those who have been called we would ask that everyone practice these simple supplications daily.

The-Prayer-of-Supplication-Intercession-1

13 Questions of Supplication
  • Have I Repented for Past Indiscretion.
  • Am I walking in Unquestioned Obedience to God’s Will.
  • I’m I passionately Seeking After God
  • Do I really Love God
  • Do I have an Intense Love for God’s Word
  • Do I have the passion to win the Lost
  • Do I spend Time in Prayer Daily
  • Do I have a Longing to Please my Heavenly Father
  • Have I separated myself from the World
  • Do I Diligently Study God’s Word
  • Do I attend Church Regularly Did I stay in prayer, or Do I Live the Life

A Divine Calling is First Birthed Out of Conviction

In closing-A divine calling is first birthed out of conviction. God miraculously does a work—either immediately or progressively—on a person’s heart, and that work propels the person into action. Many refer to Paul’s Damascus road experience as the immediate heart-change of God.

_

Certainly, this is where the Holy Spirit entered Paul’s heart. However, the Father had been progressively and relentlessly pursuing Paul long before then. Paul’s heart had always belonged to God; his vision was just a little distorted  Through alignment and anointing, God sets us on track to pursue the vision and purpose he has for each of our lives.

_

Our acceptance of that calling means that we say yes to God and fearlessly abandon anything that does not work toward his ends shield-of-faith-clipart-1

Building God’s Kingdom Series on Organic Discipleship: When The Good News is Spiritually Based And When it is Not!

The Faith movement for many can be very subjective and very mythical. For the leadership on the front lines there is a more than certain dependency for “Guardians,” of the Kingdom of God to be well versed in the practices of the faith.
One area that many preachers who lead are most certainly required to be sharp as a nail is when “Preaching of the Word of God,” or as many do say, “Bringing the Good News!

An excellent example of what should be done when the emotions are flaring in the pulpit and it’s the moment of truth-that very moment for example can be explained in the Simon Viberts great book “Excellence in Preaching: Studying the Craft of Leading Preachers.”

Preaching is a dangerously high calling in which mere mortals dare to speak on behalf of God. All too often, well-intentions preachers preach poorly. But what do good preachers do well? And what can we learn from them? Simon Vibert has studied the work of today’s leading preachers with an eye for discerning the dynamics of effective preaching. Each chapter profiles a contemporary preacher and lifts out practical principles for sermons that are biblical, motivational and transformational.

While I totally agree with Simon, when he says “All too often, well-intentions preachers preach poorly.” It is with this statement in mind that we have decided to put together some mainframe insight on “what it is and what it should be-to bring the Good News, “Authentically.”
We must caution that we submit all suggestions humbly because-as many of you should know-all too well-that preaching is an act of empowerment that comes directly from God-through means of the Holy Spirit. With that fact now firmly in mind-[here it go’s:

Fact Number #1

The message that you preach should start with the Holy Spirit, and you must be spiritually lead!

(This means one should and must not “fake the funk” when bringing the word of God. In many cases it will show and many of those folks in the congregation will feel the insincerity of the moment). While theatrical preaching may look and feel impressive to you it-may loose in translation to many in the congregation who are simply seeking the message.
In addition, you must ask yourself-are you really being fair to those you lead, those who trust you, and most important are you being a good representative of God the Father.
Many would say NO! and I would totally agree.

Fact Number #2

Still, preaching must be inspired by God, and entirely Spiritual-throughout the time preaching.

This may be one of the most challenging aspects of preaching. Your revelation must be from the inner soul and you have every right to give the sermon it’s proper theological and spiritual meaning, again inspired by God.

Fact Number #3

Prayer Must be ongoing!

When you think of the sermon Pray over it. When you are given the outline, in its almost complete draft-Pray over it! When you step up to the pulpit and at the start your sermon-Pray over it! It is customary to open the sermon with enveloping the Spirit by prayer. This prayer is for you, for the congregation, and by Gods desire.

Fact Number #4

Are you walking in unquestioned obedience?

Gods word is the force and the power, that brings about obedience to all His laws. It is actually the creative word that produces the fulfillment of those laws in our lives. It was the creative word that brought the world into existence; God spoke and it was done.

That is because this planet, in its empty state, was not rejecting God’s word, this is why we must uphold and honor the word of God because when we do- the power that comes into us is truly “amazing,” to say the least.

Fact Number #5

Philippians 4:6 ESV /

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

This simply means the approach must always be humble-petition for the will of God to shine through all that we do, and it will be given.

Fact Number #6

Study and Meditate on Scripture continually!

God told Joshua, “Study this Book of the Law continually. Meditate on it day and night so you may be sure to obey all that is written in it. Only then will you succeed” (Joshua 1:8, NLT).

God’s definition of success in life is to know Him better. One way we do that is to read and understand His Word!

Fact Number #7

Building bridges to bring others to Salvation must be our main goal.

Lastly, when the Lord shows you those needing Christ, you should always seek to build a relationship with them-and be an open conduit for their salvation.

Remember how Jesus went to the home of Zacchaeus where many sinners had gathered? While we must be careful not to place ourselves in an environment where we’ll be pulled down, we must be equally careful to cultivate friendships with those needing Christ.

When preaching always remember this golden rule-That Christ has placed you in your particular place just to reach those whom no one else can reach. Your mission at the end of it all is to-bring them home, bring them into “Salvation.”shield-of-faith-clipart-1
